About E.V. Grey

A young woman with short, black hair styled in a messy, side-swept manner looks at the camera. She has facial piercings, a piercing on her upper lip, and wears black plug earrings. She is wearing an off-the-shoulder striped top with black, white, and red horizontal stripes, and a black choker. In the background, there are colorful string lights hanging on a wall.

I’ve been writing since I could hold a pen.

There has always been something that needed to be said, a story that wanted out, an idea that wouldn’t leave me alone until I gave it a proper sentence. That impulse has never gone away. If anything, it’s only gotten louder.

My education isn’t conventional, and I wouldn’t pretend otherwise. What I have instead is years of reading and deliberate self-teaching: grammar, structure, voice, style, the mechanics of nonfiction, the architecture of fiction, the distinct and demanding craft of writing for different audiences. I learned by reading obsessively, writing constantly, and holding my own work to a standard I kept raising.

The result is a writer who is genuinely and stubbornly versatile.

I don’t have a single niche because I’ve never needed one. I’ve written short fiction and long-form essays, narrative outlines and research summaries, blog content and game dialogue; I’ve found that the through-line in all of it is the same: care. Care for the language, care for the reader, care for the project in front of me, in whatever form it may take.

In 2025, I published my first work. A themed writing prompt collection through Amazon KDP, a 40-page book built for horror writers who need a starting point and a little creative fuel. It was a small project, but a meaningful one. There’s a novel in the works as well, although that one is being given the time it deserves.

Now, I’m opening E.V. Grey’s Creative Projects to the people and businesses that need words done well. If that’s you, I’d love to hear from you.
